Dragon already has a 1/144 scale Black Hawk helicopter listed in its catalogue, and this fine model kit enjoyed a rapturous reception. Building on this success, Dragon is proud to add another “hawk” to the feathered family! This new addition is the SH-60B Seahawk, also in this popular 1/144 scale. Built by Sikorsky, the SH-60B is deployed aboard frigates, destroyers and cruisers. It has three primary missions: antisubmarine warfare (ASW), anti-surface unit warfare (ASUW) and anti-ship surveillance and targeting (ASST). It accomplishes these missions with the aid of advanced sensors as part of the Light Airborne Multi-Purpose System (LAMPS) Mk. III. It can even carry and fire torpedoes or Hellfire missiles!

Dragon’s kit is a brand new tooling corresponding to the unique form of the SH-60B Seahawk. CAD was extensively used in the design of this kit, which resulted in a highly accurate rendition of this maritime helicopter. Even the interior is fully represented. Two complete SH-60B models are enclosed in the box, and each is provided with a unique set of markings produced by Cartograf. The outstanding set of decals includes markings for HSL-43 “Battle Cats” (HSL stands for Helicopter Antisubmarine Light), with its special 50th anniversary tiger tail design. The second aircraft is from HSL-41 “Seahawks”, again with spectacular tail markings. This latter squadron is based on the west coast of the USA and trains new pilots and aircrews. For those modelers with a fondness for helicopters, this Seahawk will ruffle their feathers!
