Opel Blitz (Daimler built,Mercedes L701 Einheitsfahrerhaus)

Opel Blitz (Daimler built,Mercedes L701 Einheitsfahrerhaus)- the last production version of the famous German three-tonne truck, produced under license by the Daimler Benz plant in the last two years of World War II. It had a completely wooden cabin and some other technical simplifications of production to reduce the cost. Because of the constant shortages of necessary components, the army received a very small number of machines of this type, and most of the output appeared in the early postwar years, when Germany needed a large number of trucks to restore the economy of the country. In general, more than 11,000 machines of this type were made from 1944 to 1948. Some of them took part in combat on the Western Front in the final months of the war.
